WeChat now has more than 600 million users, 100 million of whom are overseas. This is up from 400 million even as recently as July, at which point there were 70 million overseas users. This surge in growth is one of the reasons that WeChat’s new game channel cannot be ignored as an important distribution path for online games. Tencent has only released a handful of games to WeChat thus far, but more are on the way and those that have been released are doing quite well.
