Chinese company Dalian Wanda Group and Canadian company IMAX Corp recently announced that they would add 40-120 IMAX theaters to the current number already. IMAX says there are a total of 381 IMAX theaters either operational or contracted to be build in China already. This all is relevant because last year a regulation was passed that said the Chinese government would increase the quota on foreign films allowed in the country annually as long as most of those films are IMAX films.
