Niko’s China Games Streaming Tracker tracks streaming and viewing on China’s largest game streaming platforms. Streaming video is one of the most important components of the gaming and esports industry. We track and analyze the three platforms to produce weekly market trends and game rankings including: heat index, streaming hours, unique streamers, total tips/gifts, fans per streamer, and more. In addition to the top streamed games above, here are some of the important streaming trends and events for January:
- There were 4.4 million active streamers across Huya, DouYu and Bilibili during January 2021.
- Total hours streamed across game related categories was up 26.7% month over month.
- There was an average of 129.8 million total viewers across all games each day during January 2021.
- Total tips and gifts to game streamers exceeded $171 million for the month.
- The top 4 remained fairly static, made up of the top MOBA and Battle Royale games on mobile and PC.
- Tencent continues to dominate the charts, publishing 6 of the top 10 games in the streaming tracker.
- League of Legends: Wild Rift was recently approved and is expected to launch soon, also from Tencent.
- Call of Duty Mobile launched Dec 25 and has been downloaded over 50 million times in China. Despite launching at the end of the month it ranked #23 during December and jumped 18 places to #5 this month.
- Genshin Impact continues to remain a top ten game since launch. The upcoming 1.3 update should help it maintain its ranking next month.
- Teamfight Tactics increased one place since December and is the most popular standalone auto battler game.
