According to data from Sensor Tower, the top 30 Chinese mobile game publishers accounted for around 29% of global mobile game revenue in 2020. Tencent, NetEase, MiHoYo, Lilith Games and FunPlus were the top 5 grossing Chinese mobile game publishers during the month. Tencent remained at #1 due to the ongoing success of Honor of Kings and PUBG Mobile, with the launch of Call of Duty Mobile in China helping to boost its position. NetEase’s Fantasy Westward Journey hit a daily revenue record on Dec 24, leading to a 16% MoM increase in revenue for the company. MiHoYo’s Genshin Impact has permanently pushed the company into the top 5, with the launch of new character Zhong Li leading to record high revenue on Dec 1.
