Thanks to Baparekraf Game Prime 2021 for another successful event!

Indonesia’s largest game industry event in Indonesia, Baparekraf Games Prime 2021 Online was held from August 2-8, 2021. The annual event, held online due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, was organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Baparekraf, the Indonesian Game Association (AGI), and GGWP.ID. This year’s event, which carries the theme #MainGameLokal (play local games), consisted of a series of events: the Online Game Exhibition, Game Prime Show, Game Prime Award, Online Game Development Conference and Class, and an online Free Fire esports tournament, with latter won by Rosugo Esports.

The events were attended, witnessed, and participated in by various game industry players, ranging from local Indonesian developers to casual gamers to esports enthusiasts. The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of Baparekraf, Sandiaga Uno, appreciated the event and all parties who enlivened the event. Uno also hoped that the event can continue every year and continue to advance the game industry in Indonesia and wished that Indonesian developers will always be able to show their best work.

This year’s conference session contained five sessions with topics related to game development in Indonesia. Darang Candra from Niko Partners was one of the speakers, along with Muhammad Neil El Himam (Baparekraf), Cipto Adiguno (AGI), Ricky Setiawan (GGWP.ID), Kriswin Yuniar (Tahoe Games), Aditia Dwiperdana (GameTalent.id), Danny Ardianto (Google), and Soma Putra (Stairway Games).

Overall, the Baparekraf Game Prime Online 2021 was able in bringing together major game industry players in Indonesia. We hope to return to the event in the future and keep on providing insights and analysis that can help the games industry in the region.
