The Oculus Rift VR headset is incredibly cool. At E3, I (Lisa Cosmas Hanson) had the opportunity to demo both the standard version and the HD version – and I was very impressed! I could visualize the technology doing very well in China, both among the masses of hard-core gamers who would go crazy for it if the consumer version is priced at a tolerable level for that market, and among the developers at the cash-rich online game developers who are looking for a leg up in domestic and global games development.

China will benefit already when Hawken is introduced there, as Hawken is being developed with this technology, at least it seems that way considering Hawken was the game being demoed at GDC when I first saw Oculus in action.

They also just secured $16 million in series A funding. We can’t wait to see what is next for the Oculus team!
